Labor Day

Naturally since I am retired, Labor Day is just another day to me but for the working souls in this house they had off. So we had the usual cookout and we went to the beach this weekend.

I am still not ready to put up with crowds and traffic at the Oceanside resorts so we went to Cove Road Beach. It is down by Bivalve and is a nice beach on the Nanticoke River for old people, who are tire of being ground into the sand by ocean waves, and small children. It has shallow water and the quality of the water is at least comparable to the Ocean plus you don't get body parts washed in from New Jersey like you do at the Ocean beaches.

Comments:
Howard this reminds me of long ago, hahaha, when I was a kid. Dad used to take us down to Sandy Hill Beach on a holiday. We usually went to O C but not on holidays!
But there Bill and I could dog paddle around and just have a dandy old time! Until one day we saw a water snake comming right at us. After that episode we were always on the lookout! hahaha!

On our way back from this trip we drove into Sandy Hill. It has changed a great deal, a lot of camper trailers packed tight and a very small beach. Maybe the beach is the same size, just we were small.
