New Construction In Delmar

The new branch for Bank Of Delmarva on RT13, Maryland Side of Town.

McDonald's On the Delaware side of town and on RT13 is progressing. I have heard a November opening date is being looked at.

Comments:
I really wish someone would fix the crooked columns...it's driving me nuts.
At first, I thought they were just temporary, but now they sure do look like the end all...and they are not even close to being straight.

I feel this is a really dumb descision on the part of BOD. Why build a new building and keep the old one. (albeit as just offices/drive-thru) There is another branch just 3 miles down the road on the highway. Traffic on the highway isn't going to suddendly stop at the bank for business. You have to be an existing customer. With branches in Laurel and Salisbury, seems Delmar would be the branch for Delmar residents. Maybe we don't want to have to get out on the highway to do our banking. (wouldn't we be Wilm Trust customers if we did). The bank in town is also around the post office = convienent. That branch has served well for 110 years, seems like it was just fine where it was at. Also what was the point of the Northwood drive building? (other than maybe they couldn't sell it when they foreclosed it) They have offices still in Delmar, and they have just an empty 2nd floor at N. Salisbury where the execs used to be, new branch out on Beaglin Park Dr., certainly they didn't need another big building. If they did, then all offices should have been considated there, not leaving some behind in Delmar too. Getting too big and forgetting their roots I say. I'd hate to be the one on watch when they put a 110 year old company out of business.

oh and forgot to even mention the nice view of the slum apartments. (delmarva inn) anyone want to place bets on how soon after opening before the first robery/mugging occurs in the parking lot? you really think their existing older delmar customers are going to feel safe out there? right next to rite aid who's corporate office thought it was brilliant to move from tax-free delaware to 6% O'Malley land.

at least the illegals have some work, right.
