Thanksgiving Supper - 2008

Family and Company for Thanksgiving. Hope you all had a good one.

Comments:
It's sad to hear that you starve most of the day. You could sneak into the kitchen and open the fridge. I'm sure you still have a hunk of tasty "souse" remaining from earlier in the year.

Yummers McGummers!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I had hoped my earlier post would create some sympathy and someone out there would invite me to their noon time dinner. But no luck on that. In "A Streecar Named Desire", Blanche DuBois says "I have always depended on the kindness of strangers." Well based on the number of invitations I received Blanche would have a hard row to hoe around here if she depended on the kindness of strangers.

My wife is drooling over your big bowl of stuffing. it is her favorite thing of the holiday season. Matter of fact, I think I'll wrap a couple of boxes of Stove Top and put them under the tree this year as a gag.

Now that I zoomed in, and she saw it was only green beans.. now she's not so jealous.

Well they didn't cook as much as what they do when we have a crowd, but what you don't see in the picture is the table to the side where the food is. The wife and daughters made; Turkey, Hayman sweet potatoes, Mashed Irish potatoes, stuffin, dumplings (and naturally gravy), mac and cheese, corn pudding, Green beans, coleslaw, cranberry jelly, deviled eggs, sweet potatoe biscuits, regular biscuits, and the wife baked coconut cream pies, sweet potatoe pies and a pumpkin pie.

Looks like a great time, and a great family ! I would definitely have invited you for my special ham, baked yams, brussel sprouts and cherry cobbler. It was all great. I am still cleaning the kitchen.

Good times and good health to all.

Howard, on a cherished photo such as a family Thanksgiving gathering,,, You should include everyone in the photo! :) Most every camera has a timer so you can sit it down and be part of the memory too...God Bless all of You!!!
Oh yeah,,,the sidebar trays with yummies is a nice idea... Especially with gravy 'n all!
