Grave Hunting on A Cold Day

I spent sometime today with my mother looking for a grave at Asbury Church in Mount Vernon (Somerset County). It was cold. As many of you may know Asbury sets on a hill next to the marsh and the wind was freezing coming off the marsh today - well actually just about everywhere I went today it was freezing, including Delmar.

Anyway the grave I was looking for was of Joseph G. Dashiell, first husband of my grandmother. He was born in 1873 and died in 1916 of a kidney disease (Brights disease). Leaving my grandmother (Lillian Grace Price Dashiell) with two small children. Happily my 85 year old mother got her thought processes in order and we were able to locate the grave in about 15 minutes. The church graveyard does have a number of Dashiell family members.
