Delmar Maryland Trash Pickup
Tom McGuire sent me a couple photos of the sloppy trash pickup made on the Maryland side of town this week. I drove around a couple streets on the Maryland side of Town today and it looks like at each spot the trash truck stopped at, there was a line of trash that fell out on to the street. Supposedly Town Hall has contacted the trash company (Chesapeake Waste) but I would be surprised if anything is done about it.

So now the trash pickup companies are supposed to scrub the streets too?
I thought Delmar had a street sweeper to pick up and clean this little bit of mess.
Some people just never run out of time looking for things to complain about do they!?

Yes the trash company should scrub the streets if they made the mess. Some people and companies just never do what they are paid to do and that is why we have Indians and Mexicans here because Americans can't seem to do a decent job, even on collecting and hauling trash.
About the complaining. I remove the grass in the sidewalk, I sweep the leaves from the gutter, I clear the street drain. I do my part as a good citizen of Delmar.
Across the street, the town used chemicals to kill the grass growing in the neighbor's sidewalk and in the street alongside his house. No one removed the brown dead grass and weeds left behind.
On the other side is a rental. The grass cutting contractor shows up and cuts the huge yard in 10 minutes, shooting grass cuttings onto the sidewalks and into the street. The tenants don't clean the sidewalk or the gutters or pick up garbage in the street in front of the rental. (I do.) When a big storm is forecast, the town cleans the street drain in front of their house.
Complain. Damn straight.

If there's someone cutting grass or raking leaves into the streets to stop up the drains, then you should be reporting them!
That is part of the problem, people go home, close their doors and their windows and never watch or say anything about what's going on around them.
That is why crime is as bad as it is because people would rather do nothing to be proactive, they'd rather just complain AFTER the fact.
