Singletree Stables - 40 Years in Business

Singletree Stables will celebrate being in business for 40 years with an open house on October 9th from 9 to 11 AM. Now both of my girls rode at Singletree Stables under Mollie Easterson. I think the youngest, Susan, was 5 years old at the time she started riding, so we are thrilled Singletree has been in business so long. Never riding myself, I was surprise to find, when it comes to horseback riding lessons that it is a female dominated class. There seems to be some attachment 9 to 15 year old girls have to horses. Singletree always seem to offer riding courses thru DelTech and they offer a wide range of programs from summer camp to private lessons to family lessons to group lessons on and on. We had one or two riding birthday parties there that were successful. I think the girl's girl scout troops also went up for lessons in order to receive a horseback riding patch or a horsecare patch. Twice a year, I remember, they have a competition at Singletree in which the top riders in various age groups receive a ribbon. I will say we were proud of the ribbons our girls won. The ribbons also went up in the fire at our house but I figure now we can make up lies about how they were the top riders on the east coast instead of their 4th place at Singletree. If you are up in Seaford on Saturday Oct 9th and curious about riding lessons, or just a previous alumni, stop by Singletree Stables on Briarhook Road.

Comments:
For first prize (five pounds of RAPA scrapple), what is a "singletree"? Can you answer without looking it up?

It is somekind of crossbeam or bar at the end of a plow that the harness goes to, at least I think that what it is. Tell where to collect that 5 Lbs of scrapple
