The Howard House Fire Update
First I would like to thank everyone for the offers of help for my wife and I. I would also like to thank everyone who helped with the fire and our relocation after the fire. I will do a larger post in the future on the whole matter. For those who may not know it; my house caught fire last Saturday in the middle of a blizzard and burnt. We are Okay. The snowstorm has not helped this process along but our insurance company (Nationwide) finally got up with us yesterday. We currently are living in a motel in Salisbury but hope to have a more permanent/temporary resident in the next week or so. For those who have offered help let me thank you. Our insurance is providing for our needs at the present so we will not need your assistance. Since I am involved in real life issues I will not be blogging for the next couple of weeks.
My poor daughter (the youngest) had to move from her college dorm a week or so ago due to a bursed water pipe, now we have had to call her up and tell her she has no home and her bedroom with all of her yearbooks, clothing, and personal possessions were totally destroyed my fire.
Our rabbit and one cat were saved. One cat however is missing and I fear perished in the fire. If anyone sees a tan and white 13 year old male cat in the vicinity of First and Jewell in Delmar please let us know.
One area of advice I could use is how to deal with the insurance company. At present they seem friendly and helpful however it is a business and at some point it will come down to money. If you have any advice on the oddity of insurance companies in handling claims for a fire please let me know.
