National Library Week begins today, April 8-14, 2012, with the theme of “You belong @ your library.”
Altho President Obama issues a White House Proclamation for every odd ball group out there I see none for National Library Week, therefore, I Howard will issue my own proclamation for National Library Week.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that I, Howard, Blog Owner Of The Delmar Dustpan, proclaim National Library Week @ Delmar, April 8-14, 2012. I encourage everyone in the Delmar community to take advantage of the many resources and services available at the Delmar Library. I also encourage everyone to thank the entire Library staff whose expertise and dedication make the Delmar Library a Library of distinction.
Like I said this week is National Library Week, so take advantage of the most valuable card in your wallet. Stop by to check out the local libraries awesome materials or our even awesomer events; even some of their normal programming has been “revved” up!

Stop by use the computers, read a "free" newspaper or magazine, research your family tree, check out a movie or even check out a book.
Libraries are about people, not just books, and librarians are about more than just saying “Shhh.” They are also about saying: “Psst – have a look at this.” They are sifters, guides and co-creators of human connection. Most of all they are cultural curators, not of paper, but of human history and ideas.
