Another Outstanding Delmar Maryland Citizen

Worcester County Sheriff’s Office
On June 20, 2012 around 8:00 pm Deputies from the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to near the Greene Turtle in West Ocean City. The reports were that an intoxicated person had wandered into the road and was lying in the roadway. When Deputies arrived they met with Karen Pledger 32 years of age from Delmar Md. who was very intoxicated and belligerent. Ms. Pledger was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office. At the office Ms. Pledger was processed and released on a criminal citation for disorderly conduct. Ms. Pledger was released to the care and custody of a male friend who had come to the Sheriff’s Office to give Ms. Pledger a ride home. Ms. Pledger became irate with the male and began to throw pieces of paper at him, and eventually threw a pen. Ms. Pledger was arrested again in the parking lot for assault. Ms. Pledger resisted the arrest and was eventually placed into custody once again. Ms. Pledger was later transported to the District Court Commissioner in Snow Hill and was released with a trial date of July 31, 2012 at 9:00 am in the Snow Hill District Court.

Misc Friday Items

With the hot weather we have been having I have been going out to the Freeney cemetery about 6:30 AM to do a little work before it gets to hot.
Work is coming along slow
The pavers are complete now at Town Hall for that aspect of the Landscaping
The New Bathrooms at Gordy park still are not open and the water fountains outside of the building do not work and there needs to be a pet water bowl/fountain
Work continues on the Delaware Avenue / First Street Project.  They tell me within the month it will be complete but I have doubts.  We have constant dust being kicked up from the way the streets are.

The June 2012 Delmar Joint Council Meeting

Last Night the June Delmar Delaware and Delmar Maryland Joint Council meeting was held.  Members missing were; Robt Thompson from the Delaware side and Karen Wells from the Maryland side. The public part of the meeting was over with by 8:22 PM when they went into executive session.  My usual disclaimer is; I am not part of the council and what I write is my personal views, not the minutes, of the meetings. It is also just the parts I want to comment on or write about. If you want to know the real story - go to the meeting.  Tonight was one of those rare blue skies meetings in which almost all the news was positive for Delmar.
