I went to the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting last night. It started at 7 PM and was over with by 7:30 PM. The only member that was missing was Eric Catellier.
Eric Chandler came before the commission to discuss property at 203 Spruce street Delmar Maryland. Part of the property is in town limits and the other part is only in Wicomico County. He wants the town to annex the remaining property into the town limits. The commission advised him how to proceed.
Mark Engberg who now leases the Car wash and Laundry mat (400 Bi-State Blvd) at what was the old Shorestop on the Maryland side of town requested sign approval. After much discussion some direction was given him on the sign.
Chris Gilkerson came back again with modifications to his original plan of last month for a house on 403 E. Chestnut Delmar Maryland. He increased the house to the min. of 1100 sq ft required by the town and he changed the pitch of the roof to 10/12 which raised the height by another 3' and put a window in the gable of the house reflecting a similar design in houses in the area. In my opinion it still is going to stand out like it doesn't belong in that row of houses. Nevertheless the commission gave a favorable recommendation to the Mayor and Council to build the house.

Well another weekend of celebrating drunkenness and the Irish has passed. My daughter, who works for the Ocean City Police department, came home Sunday morning from her night shift and said the cells were filled once again with drunks. Now certainly when the Irish came to America they were known to be drunks and troublemakers but after a hundred years you would think their descendants would like to shed this image, but I don't think I have ever heard a leader of the Irish in America say we are happy to celebrate St Patrick's day and the contribution the people of Irish descend have made in this country but we do not condone drunkenness and do not feel this represent an image of Irish hyphenated Americans as they are today. Still I am always amazed when you see on TV some person or couple telling the world what trash they are so why not the Irish.

Parent of a Kidnapped Child
If your child is presumed by law enforcement authorities to have been kidnapped by someone who is not a family member, you may be able to take the child into account in determining your el-igibility for the head of household or qualifying widow(er) filing status, the dependency exemption, the child tax credit, and the earned income credit (EIC). But you have to file Form 1040A or 1040 to claim these benefits. For details, see Pub. 501 (Pub. 596 for the EIC).
