Miscellaneous Wednesday

Yes the warmer weather is bringing out people to bask in the sun

Looks like a glorious day but I will be spending it the same as I have spent each day this week in a doctor's office.  Maybe tomorrow.

The Delmar DE Board of Adjustment meeting that had been scheduled for March 15 has been rescheduled for March 22nd.  This is in regards to the proposed Homeless veteran home in an R-1 residential zoned district.  I understand they will continue to accept public comment at this meeting.

The Delmar School Board has two people running for the one seat five year term.  One is the person who currently hold the seat Farrah Dawn Morelli.  The person running against her is Andrew M. Rementer.  Rementer is in the volunteer fire department, frankly I find fire department volunteers are so focus on the fire department they do not do that great when they hold a position elsewhere.

On April 26th, Delaware will have their election primary.  One of the Democratic people running for President, that you may have never heard of, is  Roque (Rocky) De La Fuente
Rocky can best be described as the No Preference option, when Clinton is a no and Sanders is even more of a no there is Rocky De La Fuente to choose.
And Yes he has filed in Delaware and is on the ballet.

Various taxpayer supported organizations, the town, school, etc are starting on their budgets for next year.  With an average income in Delmar Delaware of $38,000 a year the question I have is how much should you pay some one who should be working for you?  I understand the high school teacher average $57,000 a year, I don't know what the town employees receive but it seems to me you would keep the pay level at what the average person makes in Delmar, and if the Federal government has said people on social security will not receive a Cost of living allowance the people working for the tax payer support organizations should not receive a cost of living allowance.

I think only old people will remember these holders.  Back in a more innocent time when criminal feared the law, you would put your tag registration card and maybe your insurance card in it and wrap it around the steering wheel column. That way it would be available should you be stopped by the police.  I attempted to explain this to my daughter but it was useless as she has no knowledge of when steering columns were exposed pipes.

Speaking of history, George Chevallier passed away March 3rd.  I graduated WiHi with him and over the years our paths have passed.  In school he was collecting old coins and comic books.  he just keep collecting.  He lived and breathed history from collecting anything old to being President of the Wicomico Historical Society.  As I have said before it has been a rough first quarter of people I know dying off.

Baltimore 1941 not only are the prices unique but so is some of the food. Note the Victory Hotel rates on the left and the tattoo parlor on the right.

No ideal why some pocket knives are called vendetta knives, obviously this one has it on the blade.  The Corsican vendetta knife will usually have on the other side of the blade  "che la mia ferita sia mortale" (may the wound be fatal)
