Who Is Going To Cut Your Hair?
Maurice Thomas Campbell died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Melson's, he was a son of the late George Oliver Campbell and Agnes Catherine Parsons Campbell. He started his barbering career in 1958 and enjoyed almost 60 years of cutting hair and telling stories. His career started with Percy Phillips at the barber shop in Delmar; later, he and Gerald Riddle opened the Riddle & Campbell Barber Shop in Delmar. He was a longtime member of Melson's United Methodist Church in Delmar. He played on the Melson's fast pitch softball team. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sandra. He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Carolyn Ennis Campbell; sons, Robert W. Campbell, Rex A. Campbell and Randy L. Campbell, all of Delmar; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Jerry Oliver Campbell, of Laurel; sisters, Faye Timmons, of Powellville and Lynn Tamasi, of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Interment was at Melson's Cemetery.
