The above photo is from 1932 it is of the Standard Service Station and The Diamond State Inn. The location description is on the west side of RT13 (in 1932 RT13 would be Bi-State blvd) as you enter Delmar. I tend to think it is this building below in which Stainglas Bridal was in for a number of years. It looks like the building was cut at the awning and a false front put on. Later an extension was added in the back of the building. It is some what based on location, building shape, chimney placement, and the building held two businesses as it does today.
Thelma Powell was the daughter of William R. Powell born about 1914 and she was an ambitious person as before the Diamond State Inn she ran a hotel/boarding house in Delmar called the Linen Napkin Inn. She would later marry William Henry Tilghman.
